Food is always exceptional. Persian feta dip is to die for. Steaks are divine. Each time we have been food is always perfect. Imogen is such an asset to the South Australian her wine knowledge and her fantastic people skills always make our visit special. Do yourself a favour go to the South Australian in Mount Gambier you will not regret it

Had the sausage and mash with a side of veggies. Partner had the apple pie for dessert. Not what we expected pub food to look like but taste was amazing. Was seated in a booth which was lovely. Would highly recommend!

We were walk-ins no booking, went out of their way to find us a seat. We sat at the bar in the restaurant and enjoyed the atmosphere. Staff super friendly and great service. Meals were well presented and very nice. I had the chicken and husband had the beef snitzel and we really enjoyed both.

This place was so good we cancelled our dinner reservations elsewhere so we could eat here again. The food was amazing and my steak was cooked to perfection (it's amazing how many people stuff up a rare steak). The schnitzel I had on the second night was so juicy. We also had the tiramisu (so delicious, I regretted opting to share it with my husband) and the 'brookie', which to be honest i wasn't excited about, but when it came out and I tasted that melted marshmallow and jam, I was blown away. The staff were incredibly attentive and friendly. If I ever pass through the Mount again, I will definitely be eating here.

Nice place to have diner. Steak was serve as requested. The chicken parmigina order was so delicious. We added the mushroom sauce with and it was 1 of the most delicious and tasty sauce that I ever have. Will recommend to those who like mushroom. Could taste a bit of truffle also if not mistaken.

South Australian Hotel – Steak Perfection Had the pleasure of trying the steak at the South Australian Hotel and it was absolutely perfect. Cooked exactly how I like it—juicy, tender, and full of flavour. The sear on the outside was spot on, and every bite melted in the mouth. Seasoning was balanced, and the sides complemented the dish beautifully. Easily one of the best steaks I’ve had in a long time. Thank you
